We combine years of experience in executive search, higher education, and not-for-profit institutions with a fresh perspective and flexible approach to search. We have worked with all kinds of organizations: private research universities, small private colleges, not-for-profit institutions, public colleges, and universities.

Margot S. Lansing  Phone: 781-237-1754, Email: Margot

Margot has over thirty years of experience in higher education as a faculty member, administrator, and consultant.  A Phi Beta Kappa cum laude graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, she received her doctorate in French Literature from the University of California at Berkeley and taught at a variety of institutions, including the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Harvard, and Brandeis. For ten years, Margot served as Associate Director of Admissions at Brandeis, where she was involved in all aspects of the admissions and enrollment process. For nine years, she held the position of Senior Consultant in a national search firm where she specialized in academic and not-for-profit search.

In 2003-04, Margot participated as a member of the Editorial Committee for the revision of The Search Committee Handbook, a resource for academic search committees. She served as a faculty member with HERS, Higher Education Resource Services, a national organization that provides leadership training for senior women in higher education held at Wellesley College and Bryn Mawr College.

In January of 1997, Margot founded Lansing & Associates, an executive search firm specializing in higher education and related not-for-profits. In 2006, Deena Whitfield joined her as a Partner. In June 2009, Margot and Deena changed the name of the Firm to Lansing & Whitfield.
